lyrics
someone tells these boys that I’m a feminist
someone tell these girls that I’m effeminate
someone tell these bands that they’re irrelevant
someone let them know I set the precedents
there’s a boys club
fighting in the back room
over all the scraps i
dug up from a lost tomb
i own this town this time
mine
when i am
drunk off the power i scream down the hillside
i stand up on my bike I’m not nice but i feel nice
i’m burning from the inside like I’m stealing this
delusions of grandeur so yeah I’m feeling it
another screaming male oh he ain’t healing shit
so just dance over the drums while i’m dealing with
this boys club
fighting in the back room
stealing all the scraps
she dug up from a lost tomb
i wanna be the curve of your hip
so so so so
when i am stalking the streets like a scarecrow
my mouth is a vulture when it should be velcro
oh this pale indie bro trash pile
i will be the king of it
if the game is for gold diggers
then i'll put a ring on it
Saw these guys live and they played a few of these songs. Cashed Out was by far my favorite, it's full of energy and goes really hard live. The second i saw a big jar of earplugs got passed around before they started their set, I knew it was gonna be a good one. I wasn't dissapointed. Eli

Terrific jangle pop with an edge, somewhere between Television Personalities and R.E.M. with a bit of Kinks in there, too. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 2, 2023
A landmark of modern power pop and the document of a songwriter taking hold of his core strengths. You could be forgiven for thinking of it as 'My Aim is True' via Pacific Northwest guitar tones. Matt DeMello (himself)
